Spiro

Spiro implements community-based screening and service delivery programs to expand tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care by:

• Identifying individuals living in the same household as people with TB, as they are at high risk of contracting the disease. 

• facilitating TB screening for these contacts and assists those diagnosed with active TB to receive treatment. Those without active TB are offered TB preventive treatment (TPT), a critical intervention that significantly reduces the risk of developing the disease. 

• adopting strong focus on children under five, who face the highest risk of severe TB, and provides telediagnostic calls to pediatric household contacts, in which they receive all necessary screening and preventive treatment in the home.
